My new exhibition at Central Gallery, Ashton Under Lyne.

"Sugary pinks, yellows and blues are the predominant colours in Davy’s colour saturated canvases of sweets seemingly melting and flowing into shapes of landscapes and people".

Made to be the opposite of another painting I made earlier.

From now on I'm giving my figurines names. "The Rabbit's Bride" is a short story by the Brothers Grimm about how a rabbit tried to force a maiden to be his bride, only for her to trick him and run away. I thought the name Griselda suited her, though in other folklore it's associated with being a faithful wife.

I was going to paint something other than sweets, but when I was shopping today I saw these creme eggs on sale. Like putting up Christmas products out in October- it just isn't right- especially at the moment when the snow in our country is so bad that it's visible from space. Easter, and Spring feels like an eternity away.
